Community Health Network has an excellent Paramedic opportunity available at Community Heart & Vascular Hospital. If you are looking for challenging work and meaningful advancement, then you should consider a career with Community. The Paramedic functions as an Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team member, assisting the Registered Nurse (RN) and physician with basic patient care including removal of groin lines, as well as Advanced Cardiac Life Support care. In this role, The Paramedic will assist RNs with recovering the patient and transporting the PACU patient from PACU to the floors, once the PACU recovery is complete. The Paramedic will also assist with transport of beds and monitors to procedural areas.
Exceptional Skills and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Current Paramedic License to practice as a Paramedic in the State of Indiana is required. If not currently certified in Indiana, out-of-state paramedics must have valid registration and pass practical and written exams within 60 days of hire to be certified in Indiana.
  • One (1) year of experience working as a Paramedic, EMT, or ED Technician is preferred.
  • Customer relations skills.
  • Medical terminology.
  • Aseptic technique and isolation.
  • Reading and writing skills.
  • Cardiac rhythm interpretation.
  • Veni-puncture
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support skills.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Stand, stretch, squat, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull, lift, and work in cramped quarters.
  • React, move, work quickly, and with multiple distractions.
  • Hear spoken word as well as telephone and equipment alarms.
