The OR RN PACU - PT days role is critical in providing specialized nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical procedures. This position focuses on monitoring patients' vital signs, managing pain, and ensuring a safe transition from the operating room to full recovery. The nurse will collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive post-operative care. The role demands vigilance, quick decision-making, and compassionate patient interaction to address any complications promptly. Ultimately, the goal is to facilitate optimal patient outcomes and comfort during the immediate post-surgical period.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor patients' vital signs and level of consciousness continuously in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU).
  • Assess and manage patients' pain and comfort levels using appropriate interventions and medications.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Experience working in a post-anesthesia care unit or surgical nursing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of anesthesia recovery protocols and patient monitoring techniques.
  • Ability to work part-time day shifts as specified.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Post Anesthesia Nursing (CPAN) or Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CAPA).
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and clinical documentation software.
  • Additional training or experience in pain management and patient education.
  • Demonstrated skills in teamwork and interdisciplinary communication.
  • Previous experience in a high-volume surgical center or hospital setting.
