View Point Health proudly provides outpatient treatment to children, adolescents and adults. We promote overall health and quality of life through treatment services (evidenced-based therapies and medication management) that reduce the impact of mental illness, behavior challenges, and substance abuse for individuals, youth and families.
The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care in an outpatient clinic for clients being treated for mental health and/or substance use disorders.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Conduct independent, comprehensive nursing assessments-including updated psychosocial and suicide risk assessments, and health evaluations-and develop appropriate care responses based on clinical findings using independent judgment.
  • Documents observations, medical history, physical and psychosocial examination results, and initial analysis of diagnostic data.
  • Formulates individualized nursing treatment plan based on assessments, treatment plan, and the client's level of need and functional ability.
  • Administer and evaluate the effectiveness of psychotropic medications, including long-acting injectables, while monitoring for side effects and patient response.
  • Provide patient and family education tailored to individual understanding, cultural background, and mental health needs.
  • Independently manage routine and urgent clinical situations. Follow established protocols while also utilizing clinical judgment to assess individual patient needs; use nursing expertise to adapt care accordingly and escalate concerns to higher-level providers or supervisors when appropriate
  • Observes and records in the client's progress notes responses to treatment and any new symptoms or other changes in the client's condition.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, physician extenders (i.e., PA or APRNs), therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans and to deliver integrated, person-centered care.
  • Notifies the medical provider significant side effects or other adverse reactions observed or reported. Makes suggestions to the treatment team regarding any needed changes to the client's treatment plan, adjusts nursing care plan accordingly, and secures necessary authorizations and re-authorizations.
  • Work with pharmacies and patients to complete patient assistance program paperwork and prior authorizations, ensuring timely access to prescribed medications.
  • Accurately and promptly document clinical care, assessments, and communications in the electronic health record, following all agency standards
  • May provide group skills or individual training and supportive counseling to mental health clients and their families as needed. Provides medical and symptom psychoeducation. Linkage and care coordination with other medical providers/PCPs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse or Multistate license; or one - (1) year of experience at the lower-level Registered Nurse 1 (HCP070) or position equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in Community Mental Health, SUD and/or IDD
  • Experience with Carelogic or other EMR

Requirements/Competencies:
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
  • Requires long periods of sitting/standing.
  • Must have valid Georgia driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy.
  • Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting).
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and subject to random drug screens.
  • Any combination of training and experience, which would have enabled the applicant to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.
  • Other duties as assigned.
