Job description

Description
Chainbridge Solutions is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our growing team as a Part-Time employee. As a DBA, you’ll be responsible for maintaining an Oracle database that supports a three-tier web application based on the Entellitrak COTS platform.  The DBA will work closely with a team of developers, business analysts, and testers supporting bug fixes, enhancements, and upgrades for multiple projects.

The DBA will also be an integral part of the infrastructure support team, tasked with ensuring that the database meets contract standards for performance, availability, and security. In this capacity, the DBA will make recommendations for optimization and tuning that will lead to improvements in overall application health. In addition, it is expected that the DBA will take the lead in major initiatives such as Oracle upgrades, integration with AWS storage, and other engineering activities that impact the application database

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain an Oracle 19c Enterprise Edition database, including development, test, training, pre-production, and production systems.
  • Establish database storage structures and modify the database as needed to meet evolving application demands.
  • Plan and execute major Oracle upgrades, coordinating with hosting and development teams to ensure a low-risk upgrade with minimal downtime. 
  • Update design documentation to reflect new software or infrastructure information related to database, operating system, or data exchange with the customer’s application.
  • Monitor database backup status, conduct database restore tests, and recommend changes as needed to the backup and restore plans.
  • Proactively monitor database storage and plan for growth as part of an overall capacity management strategy.
  • Help troubleshoot escalated data quality concerns, applying SQL queries and an understanding of the application workflows to identify potential data anomalies.
  • Work with business intelligence analysts to support data analysis efforts 

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 5+ years of experience administering an Oracle database, version 11g or higher.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting a database that is part of a three-tier web application, working closely with development teams.
  • 3+ years’ experience in relational database concepts, logical modeling, and database architecture in a cloud environment.
  • Active Security+ certification is required
  • Experience with performance tuning an Oracle database, and resolving issues related to performance, reliability, and data quality.
  • US Citizen, willing and able to successfully complete a U.S. Government background investigation
  • A current T3 investigation completed within the last 3 years is highly preferred
Desired skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prior experience with workflow or data transaction solutions preferred.
  • Prior experience with Case Management platforms (i.e. Salesforce, Entellitrak, ServiceNow, etc.)
