Description:Position Summary:

The Student Onboarding Specialist works directly with the Student Onboarding Coordinator to effectively welcome and transition new students. This role serves as a primary point of contact for new students and families, welcoming and guiding them through the transition and orientation to a fully virtual learning experience. The specialist will ensure a smooth and supported transition into our virtual school environment. The aim of the Student Onboarding Specialist is to align their deliverables with the strategic initiatives of Blue-X Virtual, while promoting the organization’s overall vision, objectives, goals, and culture.

Qualifications:Education/Certification:
  • Must have a High School Diploma/GED
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University (preferred)
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Serve as the initial contact for newly enrolled students and their families during the onboarding process.
  • Offer flexible scheduling during after-hours and weekends, to accommodate the needs of working teens, young parents, and diverse family schedules.
  • During peak times, acting as the overflow specialist during the weekday as needed.
  • Coordinate and facilitate virtual orientation sessions and one-on-one onboarding meetings.
  • Conduct welcome calls/emails to explain the onboarding process, address questions, and provide personalized guidance.
  • Ensure that families become familiar with school platforms, expectations, academic calendars, and support resources.
  • Track progress of each new student through onboarding milestones using the school's SIS system.
  • Follow up with students who are not progressing through onboarding and develop individualized support plans as needed.
  • Maintain open, consistent, and proactive communication with students and parents/guardians throughout the onboarding and re-enrollment phases.
  • Partner with Enrollment, Counseling, IT, Academics, and other teams to ensure smooth transitions and troubleshoot technical or academic issues.
  • Model and promote the school’s mission, vision, and core values through all onboarding interactions.
  • Coordinate with leadership to welcome back previously withdrawn students to return with additional support in place to ensure success.
  • Help students feel welcomed and connected to the virtual community from day one.
  • All other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Experience

  • 1+ Years experience in Customer Experience.
  • 1+ Years experience using Google Workspace preferred.
  • 1+ Years experience in processing student enrollments preferred.
  • 1+ Years experience with SIS preferred.
