Type: Part-Time – Non-Exempt

Schedule: Up to 30 hours per week

Position Overview

The Front Desk Staff plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and positive first impression for members and guests. This position is responsible for delivering excellent customer service, assisting with membership inquiries and program registrations, and supporting daily front desk operations. The ideal candidate is friendly, reliable, and service-oriented, with a strong commitment to providing an exceptional member experience and upholding the YMCA mission and values.

  • Complimentary YMCA Membership for Part-Time employees. An additional adult family member may be added for $20 per month.

What You’ll Do:

  • Greet members and guests with a positive and professional attitude
  • Process new memberships, renewals, and program registrations
  • Answer questions about programs, policies, and facility usage
  • Promote YMCA programs, events, and services
  • Maintain accurate records and handle transactions
  • Support daily operations and ensure policies are followed
  • Provide excellent customer service and resolve concerns appropriately
  • Attend all required staff meetings and trainings, including abuse risk management and youth safety training

What We’re Looking For:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years of experience in a customer-facing role required
  • Basic to intermediate computer proficiency required
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build rapport and establish credibility with members and guests
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively
  • Ability to work efficiently and productively in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
