Job description

The Role:
Guardian Service Industries, Inc. is looking for a Part-Time Night Supervisor (5-hour shift) for one of our accounts in the West Palm Beach, FL Area. Must be able to understand and speak English and Spanish. Most/all of the following tasks are to be completed daily depending on your role.
Job specifications are as follows
  • English/Spanish required
  • Basic to advanced knowledge and the ability to repair, maintain, and troubleshoot.
  • Supervise work activities of janitorial personnel.
    • Assign duties, inspect work, and investigate complaints regarding janitorial services, and take corrective action. May purchase janitorial supplies and equipment, take periodic inventories, screen applicants, train new employees, and recommend dismissals.
  • Manage a team of janitorial overnight staff. Tenant and ownership interface.
  • Assist with managing time, payroll, and daily duties of employees.
  • This position will also require the capability to perform front of house contractor/tenant liaison meetings and/or discussions regarding the above outlined topics.
  • Ability to provide labor on short notice.
  • Provide recommendations to improve cleaning methods or quality of service.
  • Interpret department procedures and enforce safety regulations.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written).
  • Able to work flexible hours, occasionally including weekends.
  • Available to work if needed during emergency situations (flood, hurricanes, etc.).
  • Knowledge of the commercial janitorial industry.
  • Familiarity with stripping & waxing floors as well as shampooing carpets.
  • Know how to create a section list.
  • Understand commercial and janitorial operations:
    • Staffing
    • Progressive discipline
    • Sectioning
    • Computerized payroll
  • Proficient in the use of a smart phone and iPad to do inspections.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment.
  • Must know concepts, methods, and techniques of scheduling, supervision, inspection, and distribution of materials.
  • Able to implement and/or give verbal and written instructions.
  • Can prioritize and plan work to meet deadlines. Must know how to interpret specifications and requisition of materials.
  • Ability to carry, lift, push, or pull thirty (30) pounds or more.
  • Handle special projects as assigned.
