Status: Seasonal PRN – 13-week night shift commitment

This position is not eligible for benefits due to its PRN status.

Upon successful completion of the seasonal PRN assignment, a completion bonus will be awarded:

  • Full-Time Commitment: $1,500
  • Part-Time Commitment: $1,000

Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, TX, is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join our amazing Progressive Care Unit that focuses on Renal Transplant, Urology, Peritoneal Dialysis, Pulmonary HTN, and more. Baylor Scott and White Medical Center is ranked #1 in the United States on the 2023 Fortune/PINC AI Top 100 Hospitals list. Additionally, it is recognized as a Magnet® designated hospital, signifying nursing excellence. The Temple Memorial campus is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin. It is one of eight nationally accredited Pulmonary Hypertension Centers in Texas.

Unit Summary

STC 3 is a 35-bed monitored hospital unit that cares for a unique population of patients ranging from young adults to geriatrics. Our diverse patient population includes complex urology patients, pulmonary hypertension patients, kidney and pancreas transplant patients, peritoneal dialysis patients, and radioactive implant cases. STC 3 is the only unit in the hospital that performs peritoneal dialysis. STC 3 is the only floor equipped with lead-lined rooms to care for patients receiving radioactive therapies in the inpatient setting. 

What You'll Do:

As a valued member of our multidisciplinary team, you will gain hands-on experience and specialized skills including: 

·       Peritoneal Dialysis management

·       Epidural

·       Continuous Bladder Irrigation

·       Nephrostomy and Urostomy care 

·       Complex urinary catheter insertions and care

·       Suprapubic catheter insertion and care

You'll also have the opportunity to train in ultrasound guided IV insertion, expanding your clinical expertise and contributing to exceptional patient outcomes.

·       Certified Clinical Transplant Nurse (CCTN)

·       Certified Peritoneal Dialysis Nurse (CPDN)

·       Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN)
