Lifesteps is expanding services in Butler County and has an immediate need for multiple Program Aides in Butler, PA.

Lifesteps is a non-profit human services organization which has been serving Western Pennsylvania for 100 years by โ€œhelping individuals and families with life's changing needsโ€. The Agency provides programs and services to help those with special needs live to their fullest potential. If you have a strong desire to help others and serve the community, this is your opportunity.


POSITION SUMMARY:

Have fun while you work and bring joy into the lives of the Day Program participants! The Program Aide is responsible for assisting special needs adults with activities such as crafts, community outings and life skills.

The Program Aide observes and reports on the accomplishments of participants, while maintaining a safe and clean environment, and also transports participants in the community using an Agency vehicle for learning, engagement and fun activities.


This position works part-time with a schedule of 9:30am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Current driverโ€™s license with the ability to travel utilizing an Agency vehicle
  • Obtain and maintain certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) - offered by Lifesteps
  • First aid and CPR certification or the ability to obtain and maintain within six (6) months - offered by Lifesteps

Preferred:

  • One-year experience working with individuals in human services field
  • Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators Certificate (ACRE)
  • Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP)
  • Associates or bachelorโ€™s degree in education, special education, sociology, social work, rehabilitation, counseling, therapy, transition programming, or any other major
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
