Job Summary:
The Head Golf Professional is responsible for promoting the game of golf and creating an exceptional experience for members and guests at the club. This role delivers outstanding customer service, overseeing golf shop operations, and managing golf-related activities. The Head Golf Professional collaborates with the management team to drive revenue growth through innovative programming, member engagement initiatives, and high-quality instruction. This position requires a deep passion for golf, strong leadership skills, and the ability to foster a positive environment that encourages participation, enjoyment, and a sense of community among members and guests
Day-to-Day:
- Deliver efficient and friendly customer service across all areas of the pro-shop, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience for members/guests.
- Provide high-quality golf instruction to members/guests in accordance with Invited and PGA/LPGA standards.
- Develop and promote a variety of golf clinics, private lessons, and programs for adults, juniors, and seniors.
- Actively promote the game of golf and the club by maintaining a high standard of professionalism, service, and engagement.
- Build strong relationships with members by leading or participating in committees, hosting clinics for various groups (men, women, juniors), offering personalized golf lessons, and playing rounds with members/guests.
- Create and manage an annual golf calendar outlining activities and events designed to enhance the member’s experience.
- Establish and achieve sales and instruction goals, ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Develop, implement, and oversee aggressive golf revenue strategies, marketing initiatives, and net revenue plans, adhering to Invited’s budgeting and revenue guidelines.
- Supervise outside golf operations, including marshals, starters, and golf shop attendants, to ensure staff performance aligns with daily procedures and policies (e.g., staging areas, driving range, golf cart storage).
- Lead and oversee golf shop operations by training, motivating, and conducting regular staff meetings to ensure a cohesive and well-informed team.
- Manage and direct golf operations staff, including recruiting, hiring, performance evaluations, and development.
- Build a service of excellence team that understands the relationship between value, member satisfaction, and member retention.
- Plan, promote, and execute all tournaments and special golf events, ensuring seamless coordination across all areas of operations (e.g., Food & Beverage).
- Oversee all aspects of event promotion, scheduling, execution, and post-event wrap-up.
- Ensure staff are properly trained and consistently follow club guidelines and procedures, particularly regarding closing business functions
About You:
Required
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in golf operations and customer service, demonstrating a strong commitment to enhancing the member’s experience.
- PGA or LPGA Professional Certification is mandatory, reflecting a high level of expertise in golf instruction and operations.
Preferred
- A college degree in a related field.
- Proven experience with direct financial management and budget responsibilities, ensuring effective oversight and strategic planning.
- Proven ability to handle confidential Company information and sensitive employee matters with discretion and professionalism.
- Commitment to upholding the highest level of ethical work standards
