Head Girls and Boys Cross Country Coach (Stipend) at Simi Valley Unified School District Share on X Print Application Deadline Continuous Date Posted 3/30/2026 Contact Jacqueline Lopez Number of Openings 1 Salary Pay Range $3,159 - $4,210 Stipend Length of Work Year Seasonal Part-Time Stipend position Employment Type Part Time Job Summary Job Summary Under the direction of an assigned administrator, the Head Girls and Boys Cross Country Coach is responsible for planning, directing, and supporting the school's cross-country program. The Coach oversees year-round program development, including athlete training, conditioning, race preparation, and competitive participation at the high school level. The Coach implements safe, developmentally appropriate training; ensures adherence to behavior, academic, and safety standards; and maintains compliance with District policies, State requirements, league rules, and CIF (California Interscholastic Federation) regulations governing interscholastic athletics.

The Head Cross Country Coach fosters a positive, inclusive, and sportsmanlike team culture that supports student-athlete growth both on and off the course. The position includes collaboration with school administration, the Athletic Department, fellow coaches, and community partners to promote student connectedness, sportsmanship, and program success. This is a stipend-compensated, seasonal position and is not part of the permanent classified service.

Requirements / Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Required at Time of Application (Screening Requirement) Applicants must upload all required certificates at the time of application. Required uploaded documents include: NFHS Certifications (via NFHS Learn, https://nfhslearn.com/) for: Fundamentals of Coaching Concussion in Sports Heat Illness Prevention Sudden Cardiac Arrest Required statewide for interscholastic coaches and widely used across CIF programs

Valid First Aid & CPR certification (Pre-Employment Requirement) The coach must possess a current First Aid and CPR certification that meets American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA) standards, or equivalent training aligned with ARC/AHA guidelines including an in-person, hands-on CPR skills assessment completed prior to the first day of coaching duties. Required under Cal. Educ.

Code 49413 (training must be based on ARC/AHA equivalent standards). ARC guidance states that online-only CPR without hands-on skills testing does not meet certification requirements. 3.
