Summary
This position is located at McAlester Army Ammunition Plant in McAlester, Oklahoma .

Duties
Help
  • Work involves troubleshooting, repairing, and/or overhauling major components and systems such as engines, transmissions, differentials and transaxles, electronic fuel injection systems, emission control systems.
  • Tears down, adjusts, repairs, reassembles, and runs operational checks on components of these systems following instructions contained in technical manuals.
  • Isolates and repairs complex malfunctions and uses a wide variety of test equipment such as computerized engine analyzers, compression testers, test benches, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and special feeler and dial gauges.
  • Observes safety, sanitation and hazardous waste disposal rules and requirements. Operates vehicles to test repair and move around facility.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license as required by local/state or military regulations.

A qualified candidate must possess the following:
  • Demonstrated work experience directly related to the duties described above that include the skills and knowledge listed.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
  • At least 3 years of experience with repair and maintenance of MWR auto crafts.
  • At least 2 years of experience with repair and maintenance of Government Fleet.

**Applicants who meet HP criteria will be referred to management first for consideration.
** Experience must be clearly reflected on resume to receive credit.

Allowances and Differentials
  • This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
