What are some common challenges faced by part-time Mother-Baby RNs, and how can they effectively manage their workload within limited hours?

Part-time Mother-Baby RNs often face the challenge of balancing patient care responsibilities within shorter shifts, which can make it more difficult to stay updated on patient status and unit changes. Staying organized and prioritizing tasks—such as newborn assessments, patient education, and supporting breastfeeding—helps manage time efficiently. Building strong relationships with full-time team members can also foster better collaboration and support.
