What is a part time model?

Part time models are individuals who work in the modeling industry on a flexible or non-full-time basis, often alongside other jobs, studies, or commitments. They may participate in photo shoots, fashion shows, promotional events, or advertising campaigns, but do not model as their primary career. This type of modeling offers flexibility and allows people to gain experience or supplement their income without committing to a traditional full-time modeling schedule.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time model, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Model, you need a well-groomed appearance, an understanding of posing and body movement, and the ability to follow direction, with prior modeling experience or a portfolio being highly beneficial. Familiarity with booking platforms, photo shoot environments, and sometimes basic photo editing software is often required. Professionalism, punctuality, and strong interpersonal skills help models stand out and build positive relationships with clients and photographers. These skills ensure models can effectively represent brands, adapt to various assignments, and maintain a strong reputation in a competitive industry.

What are some common challenges part-time models face in balancing their modeling work with other commitments?

Part-time models often juggle modeling assignments alongside other jobs, school, or personal commitments. Scheduling flexibility is key, as last-minute casting calls and shoots can sometimes conflict with other obligations. Additionally, part-time models may need to manage their own bookings, transportation, and preparation without the full support systems available to full-time models. Good organizational skills and clear communication with agencies and clients help ensure a smoother experience and maximize opportunities.

What is the difference between Part Time Models vs Freelance Models?

Part Time Models typically work through agencies with scheduled assignments and a more structured work environment, while Freelance Models operate independently, choosing their projects and locations. Both roles require a portfolio and modeling experience, but freelance models often have more flexibility and varied work opportunities.

How do I become a part-time model?

To become a part-time model, you should build a professional portfolio with high-quality photos, often including a variety of looks and styles. You can then apply to modeling agencies or submit your portfolio directly to clients or online platforms that connect models with opportunities. Having good communication skills, a professional attitude, and understanding the industry standards can also improve your chances of securing part-time modeling work.

How much does a part time model get paid?

Part-time models typically earn between $15 and $50 per hour, depending on factors such as experience, location, and the type of modeling work. Rates can vary widely for freelance or agency-represented models, with some specialized or high-demand models earning higher wages. Payment may be structured as hourly, daily, or per project, and models often need to negotiate their rates based on their portfolio and skills.

Job description

Practice great medicine without sacrificing life outside the clinic.
IndeVets is currently hiring for one part-time opening and one full-time opening in Pulaski, WI.
Veterinary medicine shouldn't come at the expense of your wellbeing. At IndeVets, it won't. We've reimagined what it means to be an associate veterinarian by replacing rigid contracts with sustainable career paths, putting you in control of your schedule and guaranteeing your income, backed by hands-on support and a trusted community. Whether you want to work one day a week or five, you choose the days that work for you while receiving a biweekly salary, benefits, and dedicated scheduling support - so your career finally works for your life, not the other way around.
How It Works
As a part-time W-2 veterinarian in the Pulaski area, working 1-3 days per week, you'll earn a guaranteed salary with a schedule you control by choosing the days you want to work. Your schedule is built in advance around those preferences by a dedicated scheduling coordinator, giving you the predictability to plan your life outside the clinic with confidence. We handle scheduling, logistics, and coordination, so you can focus on practicing medicine.
You'll have a guaranteed salary as your foundation, with the option to earn even more by picking up additional shifts when it works for you. Extra shifts can be paid out or converted into additional PTO, giving you flexibility in how you're rewarded.
You'll practice across a variety of trusted hospital settings in Pulaski, WI, gaining diverse clinical experience while maintaining the consistency, support, and stability of a single employer. Interested in surgery, dentistry, ER, or urgent care? We'll work to include those types of shifts in your schedule when possible.
No searching for shifts. No rebuilding your schedule each week. Just a structured, sustainable way to stay connected to the work you love.
Practice Medicine Your Way
  • No production quotas
  • No negative accrual
  • No restrictive non-competes
  • Clinical autonomy with a focus on patient care-not numbers

You practice independently - but you're never on your own. You'll have dedicated medical leadership and mentorship behind you every step of the way, plus a collaborative community of fellow veterinarians who genuinely get what you're going through. And when life gets heavy, you'll have something most employers don't offer: access to a veterinary social worker. Add in ongoing CE and professional development opportunities, and this is the kind of support system that actually helps you grow - and stay.
A Career That Grows With You
  • Leadership and mentorship opportunities
  • Exposure to diverse clinical settings
  • Flexibility to evolve your schedule over time
  • A model designed to prevent burnout-not cause it

Compensation & Benefits (Part-time, 1, 2, or 3 days/week)
  • Guaranteed salary based on your selected schedule, with consistent, predictable pay
  • Professional liability insurance (PLIT) and workers' compensation coverage
  • 401(k) with employer contribution
  • Paid Time Off (3-day program only) plus paid holidays (3-day program only)
  • Reduced administrative burden, no shift searching, contracting, or invoicing
  • Discounts on VIN, VETgirl, Fear Free, VetRec AI scribe, and more

What We're Looking For
Requirements
  • DVM or VMD from an AVMA-accredited program (or equivalent)
  • Active license in WI (or ability to obtain)
  • DEA + controlled substance license (as applicable)
  • 1+ year of clinical experience in a small animal setting
  • Confidence practicing independently
  • Strong communication and client relationship skills

Nice-to-Haves
  • GP, ER, or urgent care experience
  • Internship training
