Job description

Contract Behavioral Consultant (PsyD, LCSW, LMFT, or BCBA) 

Location: San Diego County
Schedule: Part-Time | Flexible (Monday–Friday, set your own hours)
Compensation: $60–$67/hour (based on experience + bilingual differential)

Join Toward Maximum Independence (TMI), a mission-driven nonprofit empowering children and adults with developmental disabilities since 1981. As a Behavioral Consultant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting individuals and families through meaningful, person-centered behavioral services—all while enjoying the flexibility to design a schedule that works for you.

What You’ll Do
  • Collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary team to support client success
  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
  • Provide hands-on training and guidance to individuals, families, caregivers, and staff
  • Consult with schools, agencies, and funding sources to ensure effective service delivery
  • Support crisis intervention and behavior management within home and community settings
  • Complete required documentation and monthly service reports
What We’re Looking For
  • Licensed clinician (LCSW, LMFT, PsyD/PhD) or Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and co-occurring diagnoses
  • Strong background in behavioral assessment, intervention, and crisis support
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Position Details
  • Flexible, self-directed schedule (Monday–Friday)
  • Travel within San Diego County (up to 1 hour) for in-home consultations
  • Participation in at least one monthly clinical meeting
  • Independent contractor position (no benefits; mileage not reimbursed)
