Job Title: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner / Medical Director (Part-Time)
Schedule: Part-Time, 20 Hours Per Week
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to serve as a part-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and Medical Director for our Outpatient Mental Health Clinic. The ideal candidate will provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, clinical oversight, and ensure regulatory compliance in accordance with Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, Behavioral Health Administration, and Code of Maryland Regulations standards.
This role requires strong clinical judgment, leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality behavioral health services.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Services:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments for outpatient mental health clients
- Diagnose mental health conditions and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide ongoing medication management and monitoring
- Review client progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically indicated
- Collaborate with therapists, and other clinical team members to coordinate care
Medical Director Responsibilities:
- Provide medical oversight for psychiatric services within the clinic
- Review and sign clinical documentation as required
- Conduct chart reviews to ensure clinical accuracy, quality of care, and regulatory compliance
- Monitor documentation and service delivery for compliance with CARF, COMAR, and BHA regulations
- Provide clinical guidance and consultation to treatment staff
- Support quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
- Assist with policy development and implementation related to psychiatric and medical services
Compliance & Oversight:
- Review client charts for compliance with state and accreditation standards
- Ensure medication management practices meet all applicable regulatory requirements
- Participate in audits, accreditation reviews, and corrective action planning as needed
Qualifications
- Current, active Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Maryland
- Board Certification as a PMHNP
- DEA and CDS registration
- Minimum of 2 years of outpatient psychiatric experience preferred
- Experience with outpatient mental health regulations and documentation standards
- Knowledge of CARF, COMAR, and BHA requirements preferred
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
Compensation
Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
