Find your purpose as the Graduate Medical Education Social Media Coordinator with CentraCare! The Social Media Coordinator for CentraCare's Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs will lead strategic social media efforts to elevate our academic brand, enhance recruitment, and share the story of our rural-focused, inclusive mission. This part-time role will develop engaging, compliant, and high-quality content that highlights residents, faculty, and community impact while strengthening CentraCare's presence across platforms. Through strategic digital engagement, the coordinator will help generate program recruitment leads, cultivate interest among prospective residents and fellows, and respond to inquiries in a timely manner to nurture relationships throughout the recruitment journey.

Pay and Benefits:
  • Starting pay begins at $26.74 per hour; exact wage determined by years of related experience
    • Pay range: $26.74 - $40.11 per hour

Qualifications:
  • High school education completed.
  • Two years post-secondary education in communications, marketing, project management or related field, degree in progress acceptable or experience in lieu of.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working in a related field in lieu of education (managing social media channels or digital content (professional, freelance, or personal brand)).
  • Proven experience managing social media accounts or campaigns (brand, nonprofit, or personal projects). Include specific examples or metrics (e.g., increased engagement rate, follower growth, campaign reach).
  • Strong content creation skills (social captions, blogs, visual storytelling).
  • Ability to interpret social metrics and adjust strategy accordingly with adaptability in fast-changing digital environments.
  • Basic graphic design or video editing skills (Canva, Adobe Express, CapCut).
  • Creativity and trend awareness.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Valid Driver's License and driving record in good condition required.

Core Functions:
  • Develop and implement a social media content strategy to grow the medical education brand of CentraCare Graduate Medical Education.
  • Align strategy with resident recruitment cycles with a core focus on reaching potential candidates for residency program recruitment among a targeted talent pool focused on the Midwest, rural communities, and/or greater Minnesota.
  • Create and consistently publish engaging, HIPAA-compliant content (photos, videos, stories, reels, posts) across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube as appropriate for each platform.
  • Collaborate with residents, faculty, and program directors to source authentic stories, highlight academic milestones, and promote program achievements.
  • Engage with followers and commenters, with rapid response to inquiries from prospective applicants as well as potentially brand-damaging posts.
  • Develop content with attention to brand voice consistency and online reputation with focus on professional, tasteful, and trend-aware content that reflects the high standards of our programs. Focus on quality storytelling and entertainment with educational value. In longer-form platforms, highlight significant CentraCare initiatives such as TEDx events, Grand Rounds, and annual Clinical Ethics education sessions.
  • Explore innovative ways to engage with other adjacent audiences including other healthcare professionals and learners (ex. Medical students, nursing students, CRNAs, respiratory therapists, patient care attendants etc) as well as patients in target demographics.
  • Coordinate with University of Minnesota communications and consistently obtain approval of content.
  • Ensure alignment with University and CentraCare brand standards and crisis communication protocols.
  • Monitor engagement and adjust strategy accordingly
  • Support includes graphic design team for static content and a company cell phone for business use only

Performance Metrics
  • Content Output: Publish 3-5 high-quality posts weekly across platforms, supplemented by lighter story or updated content
    • Share 4-6 short-form posts or Stories weekly
    • Create 2-3 short-form videos (e.g., Reels, TikToks, or similar) each week
    • Publish longer-form content that is created by other aspects of the organization (e.g., event recordings, interviews, or educational videos) as available from major productions or events.
  • Engagement Rate:
    • >5% average engagement per post for Instrgram and TikTok
    • >1% average engagement on LinkedIn and YouTube
  • Follower Growth: +25% annually across major channels in early phase of brand development; future targets will be 10-25% annual follower growth across key channels, depending on platform maturity.
  • Recruitment Impact: Increase in applications or inquiries tied to social media campaigns.
  • Long-Term Value: Development of reusable content library, templates, and style guides.
