How much do part time med tech jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 16, 2026, the average hourly pay for part time med tech in Delaware is $35.27, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $22.60 and $43.80 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What is the highest paying med tech job?

The highest paying medical technician roles are often in specialized areas such as clinical laboratory managers, radiologic technologists with advanced certifications, or nuclear medicine technologists, with salaries increasing based on experience, certifications, and location. These positions typically require additional training or licensure and may involve working in hospital or diagnostic settings.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

A part-time medical technician can potentially earn around $10,000 a month through overtime, high-demand specialties, or working in private clinics, especially with experience and certifications. However, such earnings are uncommon for standard part-time roles and typically require specialized skills, certifications, or additional hours beyond regular shifts.

What is the easiest medical tech job to get?

The easiest medical tech job to get is often a phlebotomist, which typically requires a short certification program and minimal prior experience. Entry-level medical technician roles such as medical assistants or basic laboratory technicians may also be accessible with relevant training and certifications. These positions usually have lower educational requirements and higher turnover, making them more attainable for new job seekers.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

Part Time Med Tech positions typically do not pay $2000 a day, as they are usually hourly or salaried roles with moderate pay rates. High-paying jobs that can reach or exceed $2000 daily often include specialized medical professionals like surgeons, anesthesiologists, or certain executive roles, which require advanced certifications, extensive experience, and full-time commitment.

What are some common challenges faced by part-time Med Techs, and how can they be managed effectively?

Part-time Med Techs often face challenges such as adjusting to varying schedules, staying updated with frequent procedural changes, and balancing patient care responsibilities with administrative tasks. Because they may work fewer shifts, it’s important to communicate proactively with full-time staff and supervisors to stay informed about new protocols or equipment updates. Building strong organizational skills and maintaining clear documentation can also help ensure a smooth workflow and high-quality patient care, even with limited hours.

What are part-time med techs and what do they do?

Part-time med techs, also known as part-time medical technologists or technicians, are healthcare professionals who work less than full-time hours in medical laboratories or clinical settings. Their main responsibilities include collecting and analyzing patient samples such as blood, urine, or tissue, operating laboratory equipment, and reporting test results to physicians or other healthcare providers. They play a crucial role in diagnosing and monitoring diseases and must adhere to strict quality and safety standards. Part-time positions offer flexibility for those balancing work with other commitments, but may involve evening, weekend, or holiday shifts.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Part Time Med Tech, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Med Tech, you need a solid background in medical technology, laboratory procedures, and specimen handling, usually supported by an associate's degree or certification such as ASCP or AMT. Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS), automated analyzers, and safety protocols is typically required. Attention to detail, reliability, and effective communication are essential soft skills for ensuring accurate test results and smooth teamwork. These skills and qualifications are crucial for maintaining high standards of patient care and laboratory safety, even when working part-time hours.
