Job Description
SUMMARY
Under administrative leadership, it is the responsibility of part time faculty to perform tasks which support advancement of the visions, missions, and values of the colleges and District. Part time faculty have responsibilities in regards to their classroom assignment, evaluation of students, curriculum, student advising, professional development, and any assignment-specific needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's in speech, speech broadcasting
  • telecommunications, rhetoric, communication, communication studies, speech communication, or organizational communication OR
  • Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in drama/theater arts, mass communication, or English OR
  • The equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:
The Speech and Debate team at Grossmont College is seeking a part-time instructor to assist with coaching both individual events and debate. Our team has a vast history of local, national and international success. Our ideal candidate has prior experience coaching a variety of speaking events, including but not limited to; IPDA debate, parliamentary debate, interpretive events, platform events, and limited preparation events. Additionally, the instructor should be available to travel with the team to tournaments and participate as a competition judge as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Faculty positions may require long periods of standing and walking in a typical classroom setting. Specific conditions may vary by subjects taught.
SALARY SCHEDULE: Adjunct, Overload and Substitute Salary Schedule.
