Rosewood Washington, D.C. is looking for a dedicated Shift Engineer (Part Time) to join our team! Nestled in the heart of historic Georgetown, our property blends timeless elegance with modern luxury, and our passionate team is committed to delivering intuitive, heartfelt service that reflects the spirit of Relationship Hospitality.
HOURLY RATE: $26.00
SHIFT ENGINEER (PART TIME) OVERVIEW:
Support and work with Engineering team to accomplish daily maintenance of the property.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Participate in the preventive maintenance program of all-building equipment and rooms.
  • Ensure the proper operation, maintenance and repair of all: Heaters, pumps, valves and lines used in the distribution of steam and heated or processed water, refrigerant compressors, condensers, evaporators, traps, transfer pumps, expansion valves, stop valves as well as all refrigerant lines and devices used to control temperatures, air compressors along distribution lines and all valves and devices for air control, natural and manufactured gas and distribution lines, including all valves and control devices, Water filters, softeners, piping and pumps used in conjunction with water distribution, including all sinks and toilet bowls, as well as supply lines and water lines. All types of motors or engines used to power pumps, compressors and fans, All types of locks, keys and locksmith related duties, All electrical work and repairs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience: Minimum three years' experience in Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, Kitchen Equipment, Plumbing or Refrigeration for a luxury or ultra-luxury hotel/resort.
  • Education: High school diploma. Engineering certifications preferred in HVAC, plumbing and general maintenance.
  • General Skills: Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest's service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data. Able to speak and write in English.
  • Technical Skills: Working knowledge of plumbing codes, electrical codes, national/local fire codes, local mechanical codes, water treatment programs, blue prints and plumbing and wiring schematics, power and hand tools, meters, etc. as it relates to the technical trades, knowledge of all mechanical equipment critical to the operation of the building; prioritize and organize work assignments; maintenance and repair of equipment, troubleshoot and use alternatives in emergency situations, ensure security and confidentiality of all hotel information, interact positively with hotel personnel and provide prompt solutions to problems. Able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of 35 to 40 pounds.
  • Schedule: This is a part time position. Flexible availability is required for this position to include early morning, days, nights, weekends and holidays.
