This is a part-time position requiring weekend availability. This position is eligible for discounted downtown parking, free employee meals, DailyPay, hotel and restaurant discounts and more.
SUMMARY:
Fulfill the daily sanitation operations of the kitchens, banquets, and all food service areas within the JW Marriott, Amway Grand, and the Courtyard by Marriott. Primarily works in the kitchen or banquet areas and cleans soiled pots, pans, silverware, glassware and plates. Stewards operate dishwashing machines or wash items by hand. Follow the expectations of the JW Marriott, including following JW Marriott guest service standards. Create a teamwork environment in the Stewarding Department and produce quality service to each guest.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Daily sanitation and cleaning of all Food and Beverage areas within the AHC including but not limited to the JW Marriott, Amway Grand and the Courtyard by Marriott
• Follow and Maintain Health Department Standards, as well as assist in maintaining JW Marriott brand standards and QA Standards
• Follows JW Service Notes, Service Harmonies and Core Values
• Follow AHC Handbook policies and standard operating procedures
• Always looking for ways to assists guests and going above and beyond to provide guest service
• Must have a strong sense of organization and unwavering standards for quality and cleanliness
• Complete daily cleaning duties and side cleaning tasks, takes pride in their work
• Assists in maintaining overall sanitation and cleanliness of all kitchen, pantries and hallways.
• Must possess exceptional attendance with full compliance to AHC attendance standards and guidelines
• Attends departmental meetings and Daily Rehearsals. Brings Suggestions for improvement.
• Takes pride in their appearance and reports to work in complete uniform, wearing the proper shoes and socks professionally dressed and groomed
• Follow the AHC Safety Standards and practice safe work habits at all times, avoiding injury to self and others
• Handles, stores, and labels all hazardous substances according to state and federal regulations
• Ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor even during periods of crisis or uncertainty.
• Setting up and breaking down all dish machines, thoroughly cleaning the dish machine
• Washing, sorting, and stacking of all dishes, dish racks, glassware, flatware, utensils and other food and beverage equipment
• Assisting with the transportation of food and equipment to event locations
• Assisting with concierge lounge food transportation and service
• Assisting on dish-up lines, setting and resetting food warmers, service lines and carts with dishes and plates for service
• Assists in set up and maintaining cleanliness in the Global Cafe
• Assist culinary, restaurant, and banquet staff as needed by running food, dishes and equipment.
• Actively taking care of each guest according to JW guest service standards and department standards
• Monitoring and food waste and controlling dish breakage
• Maintain kitchen and restaurant cleanliness and overall deep cleaning. Maintains cleanliness of carts, shelves and food warmers
• Sweep, mop and scrub kitchen floors as needed. Clean all trash receptacles and loading dock area as needed
• Breaking down boxes, disposing of trash and placing recyclables in the appropriate containers
• Communicates product needs or shortages, as well as any necessary equipment repairs promptly to Chefs or Supervisors
• Any other additional responsibilities that may be asked by General Manager or other Managers, Chefs and Supervisors

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
