Bruker's Fluorescence Microscopy Division is seeking a Manufacturing Technician. This manufacturing technician position will be based in Madison, WI. This position will be responsible for mechanical, optical and/or electrical component assembling tasks for Optical Microscopes for life science imaging applications (in particular, our line of Miniscopes used in live brain imaging studies). This position will work closely with final system QA/QC and manufacturing engineering teams to successfully deliver quality products and subassemblies.

Responsibilities

Assemble and manufacture instrumentation, subassemblies, and precision components.
Test assemblies and sub-systems by running electrical/mechanical tests on devices to ensure standards are achieved
Execute written SOPs and work instructions
Modify and fabricate parts using small hand tools and under microscope (up to 40x magnification).
Debug assemblies or systems in cooperation with production team or engineering
Organize and prioritize service schedule in accordance with customer requirements to determine needs for immediate attention, onsite visits, and remote assistance.
Work with manufacturing engineering to alter/improve assembly instructions
Assist other departments as needed and as directed by the supervisor.
Ensure timely completion of assignments while meeting or exceeding quality standards.
Accurately document work performed and maintain production records.
Maintain a clean work environment

Qualifications

Experience of using of basic mechanical tools and electrical testing tools required
2+ Years of hands-on electromechanical experience
Good mechanical and electronic aptitude required, along with exposure to a variety of hand/mechanical tools
Basic familiarity with a personal computer
Familiarity with reading assembly drawings to build assemblies
Candidates must have an eye for detail and capable of following precise instructions
Must be flexible and adaptable, as many jobs require learning by doing; successful candidates will be expected to learn new processes as needed
Ability to lift 25-30 lbs regularly, 50 lbs occasionally
Ability to travel (10%)
Diagnose problems by in-depth troubleshooting and provide service for repair of complex optical instruments. Re-qualify the instrument after service/repair to ensure proper performance of the instrument.

Additional consideration given for:
Experience working with optical components (mirror and lens systems)
Experience with small part assembly
Technician or other related associate degree

At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $48,600 and $86,500 (paid through an hourly rate equivalent) and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on a several job-related factors, including, but not limited to education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge and travel requirements for this position. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive in addition to a full range of benefits including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program and paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.
