Our Powertrain Operations facility, located on Pilgrim Road in Menomonee Falls, WI, is where the "jewel" of the motorcycle comes to life. Pilgrim Road employees produce engines and transmissions for the final assembly plant in York, Pennsylvania, as well as transmissions, and replacement parts for sale through Harley-Davidsonยฎ Genuine Motor Parts and Accessories business. Job Summary
Develops and maintains advanced technical competence in the areas of Electrical Controls through benchmarking, analysis, project interaction, education, and development of strategic partnerships. Participates in developing design and installation specifications, as well as commissioning plans. Guides and trains teams to ensure the reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems. Professionally and systematically defines, designs, develops, monitors, and refines an asset maintenance plan that includes value-added preventive maintenance tasks. Provides technical support to production, maintenance, management, and technical personnel.
Job Responsibilities
  • Modifying and troubleshooting control systems for manufacturing equipment using Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs, Fanuc robots, Siemens and Fanuc CNC machines.
  • Programming PLCs and CNC machines to meet production requirements, including writing ladder logic, function block diagrams, and structured text.
  • Configuring and integrating Fanuc robots into production lines and machining cells, optimizing their performance for maximum efficiency and productivity.
  • Troubleshooting electrical control systems to diagnose and resolve issues quickly, minimizing downtime.
  • Conducting continuous improvement initiatives with the maintenance and production teams to enhance system reliability and performance.
  • Collaborating with external vendors and contractors to source components and equipment, ensuring compatibility with existing systems.
  • Providing technical support and training to maintenance technicians and operators on control system operation and maintenance procedures.
  • Documenting control system designs, modifications, and troubleshooting procedures for future reference.
  • Adhering to safety protocols and industry standards to ensure compliance with regulations and minimize risk

Experience Requirements
Required
  • Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Proven experience in designing, programming, and troubleshooting control systems, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in programming Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs, Fanuc robots, and Siemens and Fanuc CNC machines.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical control systems, including motor control, instrumentation, and industrial networking.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to electrical control systems, such as NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) and ANSI/RIA R15.06 (Robot Safety Standard).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
