Manufacturing Technician - Mechanical Assembly

Location: Quad – CR/T Roller Operations Facility, Sussex, WI

Pay: Starting at $20.00 / hour, with the opportunity to earn more based on relevant experience, skills, and work history.

Schedule:

  • Day Shift
  • Monday–Friday
  • Overtime available as business needs require

Paid Training: Learn a specialized manufacturing trade with hands-on training provided.

Experience Preferred: Manufacturing, assembly, warehouse, production, industrial maintenance, mechanical repair, or machining experience is helpful, but not required. If you're mechanically inclined and eager to learn, we'll provide the training you need to build a successful manufacturing career.

At Quad's CR/T Roller Operations team in Sussex, WI, you'll help rebuild and manufacture the precision rubber rollers used throughout Quad's nationwide printing operations. This is an excellent opportunity to learn a specialized manufacturing trade while working in a stable, team-oriented environment with experienced mentors who will help you develop new skills.

Position Summary

Quad is seeking a Manufacturing Technician - Mechanical Assembly to join our Roller Operations team.

This is an entry-level manufacturing position designed for mechanically inclined individuals who want to learn a specialized trade. Through structured, hands-on training, you'll learn how to inspect, assemble, refurbish, and manufacture precision rubber rollers used in Quad's printing operations nationwide. No previous machining experience is required—we'll teach you the specialized skills needed to succeed.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with rebuilding and refurbishing precision rubber rollers.
  • Learn how to inspect roller components for wear and damage.
  • Assist with removing bearings and preparing rollers for rebuilding.
  • Learn to operate specialized manufacturing equipment under the guidance of experienced technicians.
  • Assemble, paint, package, and prepare finished rollers for shipment.
  • Use measuring tools such as tape measures, micrometers, and dial indicators.
  • Read work instructions and blueprints while learning manufacturing processes.
  • Operate forklifts and material handling equipment after training and certification.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Previous manufacturing, assembly, warehouse, production, industrial maintenance, or mechanical experience is helpful but not required.
  • Strong work history and dependable attendance.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English to safely perform job duties, follow work instructions, and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Forklift experience or willingness to become certified.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
