Job description

The Maintenance Technician will assist in overseeing the maintenance, repair, upgrades, and improvements of our facility. This role will perform regular maintenance and repairs of the facility, production equipment, plumbing-PVC, and general housekeeping of the building, grounds, and greenhouse. This is a hands-on role requiring knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, maintenance, and the installation and repair of equipment. The Maintenance Technician will oversee technical projects, perform complex troubleshooting, and coordinate daily operations to ensure the smooth running of systems, equipment, or processes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment 

Tasks and Responsibilities 

  • Assist with the planning and execution of daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance schedules or technical projects. 
  • Act as the go-to technical expert for resolving complex issues across various systems and equipment. 

  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for mechanical, electrical, or system failures and ensure quick resolution to minimize downtime 

  • Perform preventative and scheduled maintenance on plant equipment, ensuring functionality and reliability of all mechanical systems 

  • Install and maintain new equipment 

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all technical tasks, repairs, and system updates. 

  • Troubleshoot mechanical and/or electrical issues 

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed 

  • Ability to lift 40 pounds 

  • Ability to drive maintenance equipment 

  • Works well in both a team environment and independently 

  • Availability for on-call shifts, overtime, and weekend work, depending on operational needs.

  • Must understand the technical systems, equipment, or machinery relevant to the industry (e.g., HVAC, IT systems, manufacturing equipment, etc.). 

  • Strong communication skills 

  • Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to address complex technical issues quickly and efficiently. 

  • Ability to perform under minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment in problem solving
