POSITION: Maintenance Technician

DEPARTMENT: Operations/Facilities

REPORTS TO: Director of Operations

FLSA STATUS: Part Time/ Non-Exempt

COMPENSATION: $27.75 an Hour

ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under general direction, responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and physical well-being of ONT Field including all functions related to utilities, HVAC, and repair.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with energy and enthusiasm. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Operates, monitors, repairs, and maintains the facility's environmental controls, emergency power, electrical, HVAC, fire system, and lighting systems as required for the safe and efficient operation of the facility.
Performs major and minor repairs to heating, ventilation, air conditioning equipment.
Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on low and high pressure boilers; checks for proper operation of safety devices; installs, repairs and tests backflow devices; tests and treats water in boilers, chilled water, and condenser water systems using standard procedures.
Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on bearings, pumps, motors, shaft alignments and fans.
Repairs and maintains food service equipment including ovens, grills, dishwashers, deep fryers, and refrigeration units.
Performs general maintenance on equipment rooms; paints equipment as necessary to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Locates, checks and cleans building smoke detector heads to ensure reliable operation in time of emergency.
Responds to public inquiries in a courteous manner; provides information and service within the area of event orders; resolves complaints in an efficient and timely manner.
Ensures that safety plans are fully in place and that all safety policies are followed.
Operates equipment including, forklifts, boom lifts, electric carts, and miscellaneous hand and power tools.
Recommends requisition of supplies and materials to Operations Manager.
Maintains daily work records.
Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Required: High School Diploma or GED
Desirable License/Certificate:
Valid California Driver's License

EPA 608 certification
Forklift certified preferred

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Operating principles of a wide range of heating, ventilation and air conditioning units
Maintenance and repair techniques of food service equipment
Electrical practices

Ability to:
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, employees, peers, and the public

Skill to:
Operate modern office equipment including, computer, fax, phone, and copy machine
Operate a motor vehicle
Operate equipment, such as, forklift, boom lift, electric carts, radio devices, etc.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

This position requires standing, walking, bending and lifting 25lbs. throughout the day as well as working at the computer; irregular hours will be required. May be required to work with hazardous chemicals/substances. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility; to stand for long hours during events.

This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events.


This position requires stooping and lifting. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours. Must be able to pass background.
