Job description

JOB TITLE: ASC Registration/Reception

SUPERVISOR: ASC Administrative Manager

HOURS PER WEEK:25hrs/Non-Exempt (Monday - Friday, shift hours to be determined)

DEPARTMENT: Alberty Surgical Center

HIRING BONUS: $1,000 after 90 days

The following information is designed to outline the essential functions and position requirements of this job. It does not identify all tasks that may be expected, nor address the performance standards that must be maintained.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for greeting and registering patients, greeting and directing family members and others who arrive at the facility; handling all incoming telephone calls, back up for surgery scheduling, chart preparation data compilation and metrics. Assist patient to and from car as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
1.Greets surgery patients, collect appropriate insurance and billing documentation. *
2.Greet family members, salespeople and other visitors to the facility. Direct them to proper person or location in the facility. Keep family members updated with necessary information. *
3.Receive all incoming calls and provide appropriate response or direct calls to proper individual for handling. *
4.Assist with preparing surgery charts, gather proper documentation from various offices. *
5.Maintain family refreshment station for waiting room, manage visitors in waiting room. *
6.Provide clerical support as necessary.
7.Respond appropriately to emergency codes. *
8.Distributes all mail or couriered packages. *
9.Attend staff meetings. *
10.Uses appropriate use of PPE for patient care and other settings where required. *
11.Be an active participant in committees (i.e. Safety Committee, Infection Control). *
12.Participate in orienting new staff. *
13.Maintain regular, in person, work attendance and punctuality, as scheduled.*
14.Understand hazard risk and demonstrate complete understating of established emergency procedures for the Surgery Center. *
15.Reports incidences or issues through chain of command and maintains confidentiality. Complete all employee/patient incident documentation in a thorough and timely manner. *
16.Assist/floats to other departments as needed.
17.Employees will not be discourteous or disrespectful to a customer or any member of the public while in the course and scope of company business. *
18.Work in a cooperative manner with management/supervision, coworkers, patients and vendors. *
19.Abide by company policies. *
20.Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent
Current CPR certification

PREFERENCES:
Previous healthcare experience, preferably in a surgical setting
Basic understanding of infection control
Organizational skills and ability to prioritize work flow
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations and to work under pressure
