We prepare our students to be service-oriented leaders with a commitment to living the Gospel. Position Summary Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory's Herbst Library and Information Center's part-time Library Associate will support our school community's library use and resources.

Our robust collection includes 15,000 print volumes, an eBook collection, college-level databases, periodicals, and a research citation platform housed in the largest high school library in Northern California. The ideal candidate has a fondness for libraries, sharing an enthusiasm for reading, books, and critical consumption of information, and working with teenagers. This is a 10-month, on-campus position.

Remote work is not available. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Model Lasallian/Vincentian charisms; Support SHC's mission, philosophy and Integral Student Outcomes; The Library Associate will know, or be willing to learn how to do the following: Open library facility and set up devices, displays, and daily announcements every day at 7:00am and ending 1:00pm Facilitate a quiet, welcoming, engaging environment while promoting a studious atmosphere, general order, and neatness on a consistent basis Assist students and faculty with library catalog, online databases, Chromebooks, printers, and other learning technology Assist with scheduling classes and meetings in the Library Catalog and process materials in a variety of formats Create rotating creative, eye-catching, and interactive library displays Create socia Requirements / Qualifications Desired Qualifications An affinity for young adult literature Comfort with creating social media content and physical library displays Knowledge of and a genuine fondness for working with students of all ages in a quiet, studious environment The statements herein describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an employee assigned to this position and should not be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so assigned.
