Veterinary Technician - Ophthalmology
Far West: 3908a Far West Blvd, Ste A, Austin, Texas 78731
Part-time: Tuesday (8am-5pm), Wednesday, and Fridays (8:45am-5pm). Some Mondays are required based on hospital needs.
About You
Y ou'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing end- to- end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including intake and discharging patients.

Job Overview:
The Veterinary Technician is responsible for a variety of tasks related to customer service and patient care within the veterinary practice. Tasks include animal handling, pre, and post-operative patient care, creating and presenting financial options and estimates, accurately entering service charges into the client database, extensive client interaction, and preparing medications.
Other qualifications include:
- Previous veterinary technician experience required
- Licensed Technician preferred, but not required
- Proficient in IV catheters placement, blood work, and IV, IM, and SQ injections
- Proficient in monitoring anesthesia and working with various monitoring equipment
- Team player
- Eager to learn and is self-motivated
- Enjoys a challenging and fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills (email, uploading/downloading files, typing, etc.)
- Ability to multi-task
