Duties and Responsibilities:
• Organization, maintenance, cleaning and ensuring satisfactory working conditions of numerous required Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) test equipment standards
• Organization, maintenance, cleaning and ensuring satisfactory working conditions of numerous FAA required special tools
• Ordering of numerous supplies each semester required for FAA required to practical lab projects
• Organize, shelve, and maintain supplies inventory
• Maintain practical project kits containing required materials
• Assist instructors in lab project development, fabrication, of training aides
• Assist instructors during lab project time
• Fill-in as substitute or ancillary instructor on an as-needed basis
• Order and maintain Hazardous Materials (HazMat) in approved lockers and provide regulatory HazMat communication information
• Order and maintain fuels, oil, lubricants required for labs and engine running
• Establish and maintain inventory order points to ensure availability of supplies
• Order and maintain solvents for parts cleaning
• Collection and proper disposal of used solvents and lubricants
• Maintain inventory of all tagged and non-tagged items
• Operate forklift for unloading and loading supplies and movement of equipment
• Maintain FAA required data library
• Maintain organized tool and supply crib; issue, receive and account for items used by instructors and students
• Change filters and maintain paint and welding booths
• Clean hangar area floor or facility
Required Education:
• Bachelor's degree in aviation-related or other technical field
• Minimum of one year of experience working with mechanical equipment, tools, supplies, or a related technical field
• Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Substitutions:
• Two years of experience with an FAA certificate may substitute for the one year of required experience
• Six years of technical work experience in any field may substitute for the required degree
Required Experience:
• Experience within the aviation industry
• Possession of an FAA Pilot and/or Mechanic Certificate
• Knowledge of Hazardous Materials (HazMat) Communications
• Familiarity with tool and supply inventory management
