Part Time Leosa information

Are part-time police officers covered under LEOSA?

Part-time police officers may be covered under LEOSA (Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act) if they meet specific criteria, including full-time employment status, law enforcement authority, and certification. Coverage depends on whether the officer qualifies as a law enforcement officer under federal law, regardless of whether they work full-time or part-time. It is important to verify individual agency policies and certification status to determine LEOSA eligibility.
