Job description

Description
The Department of Career & Life Design offers a suite of career education and career experience courses to help students explore, navigate, and design their academic and professional lives. Housed within both the Career Center and the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at DePaul University, we currently offer courses for all DePaul undergraduates. Hiring for part-time teaching opportunities will occur on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year, and we invite those interested to submit an application to express their interest. Applicants with expertise that matches course scheduling needs will be contacted for an interview. Academic course schedules fluctuate from quarter to quarter and the department will work with selected individuals to determine a quarterly schedule. Courses are not guaranteed; however the department does its best to give ample notice about available courses and potential course cancellations.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience using digital tools in the classroom and/or workplace
  • Previous experience teaching, career coaching, advising, and/or working in higher education
  • Knowledge of career management, life planning, leadership development, professional development, experiential learning, design thinking, and/or workplace trends
  • Master's Degree

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver content to groups in a hybrid and/or fully online setting
  • At least two years classroom or structured instruction experience

About DePaul University's Academic Calendar:
Except for the College of Law, DePaul University operates on a quarter system. Classes in Autumn, Winter, and Spring quarters are 11 weeks in length (including finals week) and Summer courses, in two sessions, are typically 5 weeks in length. The College of Law operates on the semester system. Classes in the Fall and Spring semesters are 16 weeks in length (including finals week) and it offers a Summer Session of 7 weeks (including final exams).
