Job description

Looking for a part-time landscape mechanic (2 pm-10 pm) 2 or 3 days a week. Responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing the machinery and equipment used in landscaping, lawn care and hardscape ensuring that tools and vehicles operate efficiently and safely.

Work with the Full time Mechanic as instructed for the following:

  • Equipment Maintenance & Repair:ย Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on small engines (2-cycle, diesel, gasoline), lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, edgers, and other landscaping machinery.
  • Truck & Vehicle Service:ย Maintain and repair company trucks and vehicles, including diesel and gasoline systems, lubrication systems, starter repairs, and transmission work.
  • Preventive Maintenance:ย Conduct preventive maintenance services to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.ย 
  • Parts & Inventory Management:ย Keep accurate service records, manage parts inventory, and order replacements as needed.
  • Safety & Compliance:ย Ensure all equipment meets safety standards and complies with company proceduresย 
  • Problem-Solving:ย Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues quickly to minimize operational delays.
  • Operational Support:ย Work independently or as part of a team to support landscaping crews, sometimes on the job site.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2โ€“5 yearsโ€™ experience with small engines and/or diesel/gasoline trucks.
  • Knowledge of lubrication systems, starter repair, belt replacement, and transmission repair for small engines.
  • Familiarity with landscaping or construction equipment a plus.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical stamina for lifting, bending, stooping, and operating machinery for extended periods.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license (if operating company vehicles) .

Compensation

  • Hourly pay typically ranges fromย $28-35/hourย depending on experience and employer.ย 

We are flexible to begin on which days and start/end times, as long as you work the minimum hours we require.ย  Position could turn into a full time position as we continue to grow
