Job description

Seasonal Groundskeeper / Landscaper

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Seasonal Groundskeeper / Landscaper to assist with maintaining the appearance and safety of our outdoor grounds. This position performs a variety of landscaping and grounds maintenance tasks and is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and in a team‑oriented environment.

This is a seasonal, part-time opportunity within the Public Works Department and will work from mid-April through mid-October.
Key Responsibilities
  • Mow lawns, edge walkways, and trim shrubs and trees
  • Weed, mulch, rake, and maintain landscaped areas
  • Operate and maintain landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers
  • Assist with seasonal cleanup and general grounds maintenance
  • Identify and report safety hazards or equipment issues
  • Follow all safety procedures and work instructions
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Job Requirements
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive bending, standing, and walking
  • Basic knowledge of landscaping or grounds maintenance tasks
  • Ability to safely operate or learn to operate landscaping equipment
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Willingness to work early mornings and occasional weekends as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or outdoor maintenance
  • Experience operating commercial landscaping equipment
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Basic knowledge of plant care, irrigation, or fertilization
