Job description

Now hiring: Labor Tech in Powder Springs, GA
You will be responsible for operating and properly maintaining vacuum and hydro excavation trucks throughout the course of the job.
About our company: AIMS Companies (AIMS) provides turnkey inspection and cleaning services to the municipal and industrial community. We have grown to over 600 employees and maintain a fleet of over 600 operational equipment. We serve over 4,000 customers from a nationwide network of 18 facilities. We are an organization that has a safety-first value system and are committed to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Typical duties include:
  • Moving debris with shovels
  • Crawling and kneeling in confined spaces and access areas
  • Lifting and removing manhole covers
  • Picking up, sorting, and delivering inventory
  • Working around equipment and machinery
  • Working around biohazards such as blood-borne pathogens and sewage
  • Assist in operating hydrovac equipment in a variety of working environments, including confined spaces.
  • Performing routine inspections and minor repairs of the hydrovac equipment
  • Preparing work areas by setting up safety measures and addressing potential hazards
  • Responsible for keeping the equipment clean inside and out
  • Responsible for following company policies
  • Completing paperwork, forms, enter service tickets and records as needed
  • Attend safety meetings
  • Follow all company and OSHA mandated safety polices and procedures
  • Follow local and federal DOT Regulations while assisting in the operation of machinery and vehicles
  • Good communication with other employees and customers
  • Regular attendance as part of a 2-man crew

Minimal Requirements include:
  • Ability to operate all types of required equipment
  • Minimum of 18 years old
  • Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of confined space entry, cleaning sewer lines, and construction safety
  • Customer service and communication skills
  • Problem-solving and decision-making ability

Work Conditions:
Work is performed outside in all types of weather; frequent exposure to heat, rain, and cold conditions. Exposure to chemicals and other hazards. Must be able to physically wear PPE include hard hat and safety glasses. Must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time, bend and twist at the waist, climb stairs, and walk without assistance. Occasional use of special visual or auditory equipment such as goggles and earplugs. Traveling to job sites during the workweek and occasionally staying overnight as needed, depending on the project.
