Part Time Laborer information

What is a part time laborer?

Part time laborers are workers who perform manual or physical tasks, such as moving materials, cleaning, landscaping, or assisting skilled tradespeople, but work fewer hours than full-time employees. Their schedules are typically flexible and may include evenings, weekends, or only a few days per week. Part time laborers often work in industries like construction, warehousing, maintenance, and event setup, and their responsibilities can vary depending on the employer's needs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time laborer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Laborer, you generally need physical stamina, reliability, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with tools, basic machinery, and safety protocols is often required, with some employers preferring OSHA certification. Strong work ethic, teamwork, and good communication skills help you excel and adapt to changing tasks. These abilities are crucial for maintaining safety, productivity, and a positive work environment in labor-intensive settings.

What are some common challenges faced by part time laborers, and how can they be managed effectively?

Part-time laborers often encounter challenges such as adjusting to varying schedules, balancing multiple jobs or responsibilities, and adapting quickly to different work environments. Effective communication with supervisors about availability and workload expectations can help manage scheduling issues. Additionally, staying organized and being proactive about safety practices ensures tasks are completed efficiently and safely, even when working fewer hours. Building good relationships with team members also helps create a supportive environment, making it easier to tackle day-to-day challenges.

About the Company:

¡Vamos! Health was founded on the belief that everyone deserves a healthy and fulfilling life. We provide primary care and navigational services in Spanish and English.

¡Vamos! Health is bringing forward-thinking teammates along on a novel healthcare journey: a membership model where our patients receive a level of attention, they won’t find anywhere else. No insurance is requiredto be a member; patients pay a predictable monthly fee. Our team members who interact with patients are fully bilingual in Spanish and English. We offer primary care for all ages in-person, over the phone, and by text message. Community Health Navigators support our members with services beyond just clinical care. At some locations, we also take Medicaid! Healthcare is a family affair. Our goal is to keep mixed-Medicaid eligible families visiting the doctor together and to provide continuity of care as individuals fall in and out of eligibility.

Position Summary

The Bilingual Nurse/Midwife will provide direct patient care, health education, and support throughout the prenatal, labor and delivery, postpartum, and well-woman care continuum (as applicable to licensure and scope of practice). This role requires the ability to communicate fluently and accurately in both English and Spanish with patients, families, and care teams to ensure equitable, high-quality care and to remove language barriers to health access.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing or midwifery care, including assessments, monitoring, and treatment, in accordance with scope of practice and Utah licensure.
  • Deliver prenatal, labor and delivery, postpartum, and/or well-woman care services (as applicable to role and certification).
  • Communicate fluently in English and Spanish with patients and families to explain diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and procedures.
  • Serve as a linguistic and cultural bridge between patients and the broader care team, including physicians, specialists, and administrative staff.
  • Accurately document patient encounters, vitals, and care plans in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Provide patient education on prenatal health, newborn care, nutrition, and family planning in both languages.
  • Coordinate with interpreters, community health workers, and social services as needed for patients requiring additional support.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond to labor and delivery needs as required (for midwifery roles).
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, infection control, and all applicable clinical protocols and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team on quality improvement initiatives and culturally responsive care practices.

Qualifications

  • Active Utah RN license required; Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) certification
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required — verbal and written proficiency will be assessed.
  • Current BLS certification (ACLS/NRP preferred, depending on role).
  • Prior experience in maternal health, labor and delivery, or community health settings required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated commitment to culturally competent, patient-centered care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary clinical environment.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Compensation & Schedule

  • Pay: $55.00 – $65.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and licensure.
  • Part-time schedule: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
