Medical Assistant, Part-Time, Day Shift
Community Care is hiring a Medical Assistant who enjoys team collaboration, community-based work, being part of a mission driven organization and who shares our mission to help elderly individuals and adults with physical and intellectual disabilities continue to live as independently as possible in the community. This is a part-time opportunity at our Milwaukee Clinic located at 3220 W. Vliet St, Milwaukee, WI 53208.
Medical Assistant Job Responsibilities:
  • Appointment Coordination & Follow-up - Schedules, records, tracks and notifies members of appointments, as assigned. Arranges transportation, and escorts members to appointments, as needed.
  • Lab Tracking - Tracks various laboratory skills and procedures.
  • Member Care & Clinic Tasks - Performs routine clinical skills and tasks including, but not limited to phlebotomy, blood glucose checks, oxygen checks, vital signs, weights, charting information, and stocking clinic areas.
  • Clinical Reporting - Reports abnormal findings to primary care or RN case manager for follow-up.
  • Specimen/Lab Pick-up/Delivery - Picks up specimens from the member's home and delivers to appropriate lab as needed.
  • Transcription and Order Follow-up - Completes transcriptions and follows up on medical orders, including completing the Authorization Referral Process.
  • Clinic & Provider Support - Maintains flow in the clinic area and assists on-site providers with member visits.
  • Clinic Supply Tracking and Ordering - Tracks clinic supplies and places supply orders per protocol.
  • Equipment Maintenance - Assists with follow-up on clinic equipment, such as repairs, calibration, and disinfection.
  • Care Team Member (without meetings) - Functions as a member of the care team.
  • Work Environment Maintenance - Maintains general cleanliness, organization, laundry and stocking of the department, treatment rooms, supply rooms and office as assigned.
  • Concierge - Prints and distributes daily schedule to members as assigned. Reviews daily schedule with member as assigned. Acts as resource for members, caregivers and family; first point of contact for member needs, questions, etc. Directs members to appointments. Facilitates member adherence to appointment schedule for all disciplines at site. Check members in and out of designated appointments.

Medical Assistant Job Requirements:
Education: Required - College Diploma - Medical Assisting
Additional Requirements- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a direct care or administrative support role in a clinic or geriatric health care setting may be substituted.
Certifications/Licensures - Preferred - Certified Medical Assistant
Medical Assistant Job Schedule:
  • Monday, Wednesday & Friday 9:00AM -4:30PM; Tuesday & Thursday 9:00AM -3:30PM
  • 32 hours per week
  • No Weekends or Holidays
