Job description

Celerion is committed to swift, exceptional clinical research through translational medicine.  Every day, we use our experience, agility, and innovative research strategies to help get drugs to market faster.

Bring your cellular biology experience into a hands-on clinical research environment where accuracy, adaptability, and strong lab technique matter every day.

Celerion's Lincoln, NE location is hiring a part-time Lab Technician / Associate Analyst to join our Molecular and Cellular Biology team. This role is ideal for someone with experience with sterile technique, strong pipetting skills, and a flexible schedule that can adapt as business needs change.

In this role, you will support biological sample processing, reagent preparation, analytical testing, and data documentation in a fast-paced lab setting. As you gain independence over your first 3-6 months, your schedule will become more variable to support evening and weekend shifts. If your life outside work allows you to say "yes" when the schedule shifts, you'll thrive in this role.

Why this role may be a strong fit

This is a good opportunity for someone who wants to:

  • Build deeper hands-on experience in a clinical research laboratory
  • Work with biological samples including blood, urine, plasma, and feces
  • Use molecular and cellular biology techniques in a regulated environment
  • Grow their independence over time while supporting meaningful research
  • Work part-time hours with the understanding that schedule flexibility is essential

What to expect:

  • Starting wage: $20.50/hour with performance-based increases over time
  • Training period: ~30 hours/week for 4-5 weeks
  • Post-training: ~20 hours/week - but your schedule will vary, and flexibility is essential
  • Scheduling: Minimum 1-week notice provided; occasional extra shifts may be requested
  • Benefits: This is a non-benefited position
  • Location: Local candidates only

Responsibilities:

  • Process and extract biological samples (blood, urine, plasma, feces) manually and via automation
  • Prepare solutions and reagents
  • Record and document test data in notebooks and electronic systems
  • Support PBMC harvesting and processing
  • Perform analytical analysis to support flow cytometry and PCR analysis
  • Maintain strong attention to detail while completing repetitive, precise laboratory tasks

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree - or 2+ years of coursework - in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related field
  • Experience with sterile technique working in a biosafety cabinet.
  • Strong pipetting experience; expect 2-3 hours of pipetting daily, occasionally up to 8 hours
  • Basic computer skills; data entry comprises ~50% of each shift
  • GLP experience is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and self-motivation

Important note about availability:

  • Because this role supports a dynamic clinical research environment, candidates with limited or fixed availability may not be the right fit at this time. This position is best suited for someone who can say "yes" when the schedule shifts and who is comfortable with variability as part of the role.
