Job description

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Korean Linguist to support the translation, localization, and linguistic quality assurance of content from English into Korean. The ideal candidate is a native-level Korean speaker with exceptional written communication skills and experience adapting content for Korean-speaking audiences while maintaining accuracy, cultural relevance, and brand consistency.
6 month, part time (15/month) contract
Responsibilities
  • Translate and localize content from English into Korean across a variety of content types, including marketing materials, product content, websites, training materials, and business communications.
  • Review, edit, and proofread translated content to ensure linguistic accuracy, consistency, and adherence to client-specific terminology and style guidelines.
  • Perform linguistic quality assurance (LQA) and provide feedback to improve translation quality and consistency.
  • Conduct terminology research and maintain glossaries, style guides, and translation memories.
  • Collaborate with project managers, localization teams, and subject matter experts to resolve linguistic queries and ensure project success.
  • Adapt content to reflect cultural and regional nuances for Korean-speaking audiences.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet established quality standards and project deadlines.
  • Participate in linguistic testing and validation of localized content when required.
Qualifications
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Korean with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
  • Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Korean Language, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience translating and localizing content from English into Korean.
  • Strong understanding of Korean grammar, spelling, style, and cultural nuances.
  • Experience using CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tools such as Trados, MemoQ, Phrase, Smartling, or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in one or more specialized domains such as technology, legal, healthcare, life sciences, marketing, e-commerce, or AI.
  • Familiarity with localization workflows and terminology management.
  • Experience performing linguistic review, quality assurance, or transcreation work.
  • Previous experience working with global localization teams or language service providers.
