The Position:

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Access Control Specialist (On-Call, Part Time)-Junior to support Advanced Aircraft Research, Development, Test & Evaluation. The hourly range of this position is $20.47/hour. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

Position Background:

The Digital Analytics, Infrastructure, and Technology Advancement (DAiTA) Group is at the cutting edge of Advanced Aircraft Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (AARDT&E). Our state-of-the-art laboratories are equipped to work seamlessly together, enabling comprehensive testing and evaluation of aircraft and weapons systems across the Department of Defense. What sets the DAiTA Group apart is our exceptional ability to mitigate program risks by crafting intricate battlespace environments where cutting-edge concepts, advanced hardware, and skilled warfighters can dive into the missions of both today and the future. The Integrated Battlespace Simulation and Test (IBST) Department is at the heart of this innovative ecosystem. This team is the driving force behind the research, development, management, design, documentation, fabrication, installation, integration, testing, evaluation, operation, and maintenance of the Air Combat Environment Test Facility (ACETEF) and other DAiTA AARDT&E capabilities, laboratories, and facilities. With IBST at the helm, we're not just preparing for the future but shaping it.

A typical day as an Access Control Specialist (On-Call, Part Time)-Junior may include:

  • Supports Visitor Control duties by greeting and documenting all visitors according to security procedures (customers, tour groups, base public works, inspectors, maintainers, etc.)
  • Monitors and controls access to facility(s) and restricted areas under their responsibility by checking personnel passes, Common Access Cards (CAC) and validating security clearances/visit requests
  • Provides administrative and planning support for meetings/events and maintain schedules for all conference rooms at the AARDT&E facilities
  • Identifies appropriate locations for meetings, reserves/set-ups meeting locations and sends out information to attendees
  • Plans and coordinates logistical, administrative and security arrangements for leads and attendees
  • Arranges for and checks out IT/Audio Visual (AV) systems and equipment
  • Arranges for lunch service, snacks and refreshments as needed
  • Creates proxy badges for new employees
  • Verifies visitor DoD security clearances through DISS or BASICS II
  • Inputs visitor requests through BASICS II
  • Collects visitor cell phones/radios
  • Requests that visitors register their laptops
  • Sorts and distributes mail
  • Ensures all new personnel read the Standard Operating Procedures, sign the applicable acknowledgment form and enter the form into the Security Tracking System

Must-haves:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency MS Office
  • Experience with filing
  • The ability to compartmentalize official documents
  • Excellent personal communication skills to engage in conversations with external customers
  • The ability to demonstrate a customer-centric mindset
  • The ability to understand and administer processes (SOPs)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain SAP and/or SCI access as required
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance-AMEWAS willing to obtain and process full clearance

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site or near the work site.

The employee is required to stand, walk and/or move throughout the workday, often bending over and lifting items up to approximately 50 lbs.
