Job description

Job Title: Arabic & Qur'anic Language Teacher (K-7)

Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and mission-driven Arabic Teacher to join our school community, serving students from Kindergarten through 7th grade. This role is centered on teaching Arabic as a means to understand and connect with the Qur'an, rather than as a standalone language subject.

The ideal candidate is fluent in both Arabic and English, has a strong command of Arabic grammar, and is able to make the language meaningful, engaging, and spiritually enriching for students of all levels.

This teacher will nurture students' love for the Arabic language by helping them see it as the key to understanding the words of Allah, building both linguistic skills and a deeper connection to the Qur'an.



Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Arabic with a clear focus on serving Qur'anic understanding, including vocabulary, structure, and meaning
  • Help students connect Arabic words and grammar to their usage in the Qur'an in an age-appropriate way
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of intermediate Arabic grammar, vocabulary, and language structure
  • Explain meanings of Arabic words clearly, especially as they relate to Qur'anic context and comprehension
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of mixed-level learners, including beginners and advanced students within the same classroom
  • Design and implement creative and engaging lessons that incorporate storytelling, visuals, games, arts, and hands-on activities
  • Make Arabic a loved and meaningful subject, avoiding rote memorization without understanding
  • Foster a classroom environment where students feel confident, motivated, and spiritually connected
  • Assess student progress in both language acquisition and Qur'anic comprehension
  • Collaborate with colleagues to align Arabic instruction with Islamic Studies and Qur'an programs
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student growth and progress

Qualifications

  • Fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written)
  • Strong understanding of Arabic grammar at an intermediate level or higher
  • Ability to connect Arabic instruction directly to Qur'anic understanding and vocabulary
  • Ability to explain concepts in a clear, engaging, and student-friendly way
  • Experience working with children (elementary and/or middle school preferred)
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Ability to differentiate instruction for a wide range of learning levels
  • Creative, energetic, and passionate about teaching

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in Arabic, Islamic Studies, Education, or related field
  • Experience teaching in an Islamic school environment
  • Familiarity with Qur'anic vocabulary teaching methods or tafsir-based approaches for children
