Are you an accounting professional who wants your work to directly support a meaningful community mission? Our staffing firm is partnering with an established, high-impact non-profit organization in St. Petersburg to hire a Part-Time Accounts Payable Specialist.
This is a flexible, 20-hour-per-week position designed for a meticulous finance professional who takes pride in accuracy, organization, and smooth financial operations. If you have a strong background in accounts payable—and especially if you understand the unique reporting and ledger needs of the non-profit sector—this is a wonderful opportunity to join a warm, purpose-driven team.
What Your Week Looks Like (20 Hours/Week):
- Invoice Processing: Review, code, and enter vendor invoices, check requests, and expense reports into the accounting system with high precision.
- Payment Runs: Prepare weekly or bi-weekly check runs, ACH transfers, and electronic payments in compliance with organization approval policies.
- Vendor & Partner Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries, resolving statement discrepancies, missing invoices, or payment timing questions professionally.
- Reconciliation & Audit Prep: Assist with monthly AP sub-ledger reconciliations and help maintain organized, audit-ready digital transaction files.
- Fund Tracking: Ensure expenses are allocated correctly across appropriate department budgets, grants, or restricted fund categories.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Accounts Payable Expertise: 2+ years of dedicated, hands-on Accounts Payable experience handling full-cycle invoice processing.
- Non-Profit Familiarity (Highly Preferred): Prior experience working within a non-profit, foundation, or grant-funded environment is a huge plus.
- Technical Aptitude: Proficiency with accounting software platforms and Microsoft Excel (data entry, basic formulas, tracking).
