Job description

Summary of Position: The Compliance and Privacy Intern is a part-time position working twenty (20) hours per week. This position will support the Compliance & Privacy team in ensuring organizational adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices. This internship provides hands-on experience in healthcare compliance, risk management, privacy operations, and governance processes within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) environment. The intern will gain exposure to real-world compliance activities, including audits, risk assessments, board reporting, and operational support, while working closely with leadership and cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities: Include, but are not limited to: โ€ข Assist with compliance and privacy administrative functions and daily operations โ€ข Support preparation of Board of Directors presentations, including PowerPoint slide development โ€ข Participate in auditing activities and documentation review โ€ข Assist in conducting and documenting risk assessments โ€ข Prepare meeting agendas, materials, and take detailed meeting minutes โ€ข Support development of risk and quality reports for leadership review โ€ข Assist with facility site surveys and compliance monitoring activities โ€ข Help maintain compliance documentation and tracking tools โ€ข Collaborate with team members on special projects and process improvements Learning Opportunities: โ€ข Exposure to healthcare regulatory frameworks (e.g., HRSA, HIPAA) โ€ข Experience in compliance program operations within an FQHC setting โ€ข Development of professional communication and reporting skills โ€ข Insight into risk management, auditing, and governance practices โ€ข Opportunity to contribute to real organizational initiatives and board-level reporting Qualifications: Basic Knowledge and Skills: โ€ข Must be actively enrolled in a Health Information Systems program at an accredited college. โ€ข Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) โ€ข Organizational and time management skills โ€ข High level of professionalism and attention to detail โ€ข Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information โ€ข Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment โ€ข Willingness to work collaboratively in a team setting โ€ข Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn โ€ข Reliable and accountable with assigned responsibilities โ€ข Strong written and verbal communication skills Work Environment: This position may involve a combination of administrative office work and on-site support at CTC facilities.
