Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Night Auditor is to process the night audit for the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel properties. This position will also be responsible for acting on guest inquiries, emergencies, etc.

The Details:

Position Type: Part-Time, Year-Round

Schedule:11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Pay: $19.45 an hour.

Responsibilities
  • Fully understand and support Xanterra's Mission Statement, Cultural Pillars, Community Commitment and Core Values.
  • Audit posting to the Opera property management system from all revenue departments.
  • Perform basic steps in preparation for balancing the front desk activity. This includes using the night audit checklist, reviewing e-mail messages pertaining to audit, printing contingency reports, reviewing all cashier closing reports, run all night audit reports needed to balance all restaurant, bar, telephone, & Lost Interface charges.
  • Balance all room charges for the day to ensure accuracy; post charges and adjustments if needed.
  • Process credit cards by balancing, post any necessary adjustments, and then transmitting for submittal to Merchant-Link.
  • Run shift audit update to verify that corrections were made and that all numbers are in balance.
  • Check all rail departures and check in all rail arrivals.
  • Reconcile all transfers for direct bill - verify all as valid Accounts/Receivable entries. Attach required support for all invoices.ย  Make copies of invoice backup for A/R billing and filing purposes.
  • Run the Night Audit process - system posting of room and tax to all in-house folios.
  • Emails all pertinent information to the appropriate personnel should inaccuracies occur.
  • Label and prepare night audit envelopes for submitting to accounting.
  • Perform front desk clerk duties as needed during the shift, to include late arrival check-ins, early morning check-outs, handling guest requests, keeping front and back office clean including floors, counters, microwave and general organization of supplies and workspaces etc.
  • Assist in training, mentoring and monitoring all other night audit employees.
  • Keep restrooms, lobby and common area clean for overnight guests.
  • Works productively with little to no supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

ย Minimum Qualifications:

  • Previous customer service and cash handling experience.
  • Previous Front Desk experience.ย 
  • Experience with computers and MS Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of rooms and hotel layout on GCR property, including general knowledge of Xanterra Grand Canyon services with the ability to convey information to the guests.
  • Knowledge of Opera PMS or other PMS.
  • Previous experience as a Night Auditor.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:

  • Constantly listening, hearing, seeing, standing, walking, using eye/hand coordination, handling, wrist motion.
  • Frequently walk and lift/carry up to 10lbs.
  • Occasionally sit, handle, reach outward, reach above shoulder, squat/kneel, lift/carry and push/pull up to 100lbs.
  • Will be required to stand for long periods and to occasionally walk up/down flights of stairs.
