What are part time insurance jobs?

Part time insurance jobs are positions within the insurance industry that require employees to work fewer hours than a typical full-time schedule, often under 30-35 hours per week. These roles can include sales agents, customer service representatives, claims processors, or administrative support staff. Part time insurance jobs offer flexible schedules and can be a good fit for students, retirees, or those seeking supplemental income. They may provide opportunities to gain industry experience and, in some cases, offer benefits such as training or commissions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time insurance agent?

To thrive as a Part Time Insurance Agent, you generally need a high school diploma or equivalent, state insurance licensure, and a solid understanding of insurance products and sales principles. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software, quoting systems, and underwriting tools is typically required. Outstanding interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and the ability to build trust with clients help set top performers apart. These skills are crucial for effectively identifying client needs, providing suitable coverage solutions, and achieving sales targets in a flexible, part-time role.

What are some common challenges faced by part time insurance agents and how can they be managed?

Part-time insurance agents often face challenges such as balancing client outreach with limited working hours and building a consistent client base. Job description

Build your workday around your actual life, not the other way around. This role is fully remote with a genuinely flexible schedule - you determine when you work, provided you're consistently hitting production goals.

What Flexibility Actually Means Here

You're not clocking into a fixed shift. You're managing your own calendar around a queue of warm leads - people who already requested information about life insurance - and working them consistently enough to hit your production targets. Some agents prefer mornings, others prefer evenings; the schedule structure accommodates both as long as the consistency is there.

No Experience Required

Full training and mentorship are built in from day one, assuming zero prior insurance background. You'll learn product fundamentals, how to run a natural client conversation, and how to close effectively - all without ever needing to cold call, at any point.

Compensation

Uncapped commission: $800 to $1,200 average per sale. Based on consistent effort:

  • $50,000+ part-time in your first year
  • $80,000 to $300,000+ full-time in your first year

Pay is issued daily/weekly, with performance incentives layered on top for agents hitting certain production milestones.

Requirements

  • U.S. residents only
  • Background check required
  • Licensed or willing to get licensed for Life & Health insurance

Interested in the Flexibility?

If building your schedule around your actual life - rather than a fixed shift someone else set - sounds appealing, apply today and we'll walk you through how scheduling and onboarding work.
