Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Part-time instructor

Job Summary:

The EMS Instructor is a part-time position located thru the CLC Campus in Grayslake, IL and
teaches in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings. Under the direction of the EMS
Program Director, the EMS Instructor is responsible for preparing, delivering didactic, and
laboratory education that parallels the NHTSA, IDPH, and National Standards curriculum.

Job Description:

Exhibit an uncompromising commitment toCLCas a learning-centered college through

the College's mission, vision, values, core skills and learning outcomes, and delivery of

instruction and services
Perform a variety of administrative duties in support of theEMSeducation program.
Maintain a variety of regular and confidential documents including general correspondence,

reports, class schedules, forms, contracts, and memorandums from rough draft or from

verbal instructions; prepare copies of documents; distribute information
Update and maintain files as requested by the directors; assist with forms and collection of

data as requested
Demonstrate high-level professionalism
Participate in institutional, advisory, and program/instruction committees, campus activities,

and representation of the college in the community
Participate in program reviews
Continue professional development for the improvement of self and the program to meet

the needs of a learning-centered college
Maintain current licensure, certification, or other professional credentials required for the

position
Provide accessibility to students and colleagues as expected in a learning-centered college
Participate in student recruitment, retention, advising, and registration activities
Perform other duties as assigned by theEMSProgram Director

Required qualifications:

Minimum of three years' work experience inEMS
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Working knowledge/utilization of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software

applications
Current IL orNREMT,EMTor Paramedic credential, Nursing credential

Preferred qualifications:

Associates degree or higher
5 or more years of work experience inEMS
Evidence of being detail-oriented
Evidence of effective problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
Evidence of a strong work ethic with a proven track record of project completion,

multi-tasking, and the ability to handle high-pressure environments
Evidence of a willingness to accept responsibility for professional and personal growth
