Job description

VG Systems, LLC is seeking an entry-level part-time IT Support Technician to provide hybrid, on-call IT support to internal teams. This role is a 1099 contractor position and does not require HUBZone residency.

This is a very small engagement, averaging less than 3 hours per week at $20/hour, estimated at approximately 5 hours per month with no set schedule. The candidate must be available on-call as needed and will support a single client with straightforward Tier 1 issues.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide Tier 1 technical support for end users (remote and on-site).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Assist with workstation setup, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Support user account creation, access permissions, and basic system administration.
  • Document troubleshooting steps, solutions, and support activity.
  • Possible assist with basic system updates, patches, and security monitoring.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).


Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Apple Business Manager.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Surface hardware.
  • Familiarity with Apple hardware.
  • Basic understanding of Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Effective communication skills and customer service mindset.
  • Highly dependable and trustworthy.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be comfortable working as a 1099 contractor.
  • Able to work approximately 5 hours per month and/or on-call as needed.
