Job description

Here's an opportunity to take your knowledge of firearms and put it to work in a role where trust, accuracy, and good judgement genuinely matter.
Xcellent Technology Solutions (XTS) is looking for a Part-Time Equipment Retail Operations Assistant to work alongside our Equipment Retail Manager and help support a unique, growing part of our business. This is not a traditional storefront retail position. Instead, you'll work behind the scenes helping manage the day-to-day operations that keep our equipment and firearms business running-from online sales and customer communication to inventory, compliance documentation, order fulfillment, and keeping our websites accurate and up to date. The ideal individual will be someone who already knows firearms, understands firearm safety, and can comfortably speak the language. Just as importantly, we need someone who understands that when you're working with firearms and regulated transactions, the small details are not really small. You'll work directly with our Equipment Retail Manager and help take ownership of the day-to-day details behind the operations to include, ensuring transactions are handled in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements, managing online product listings, including pricing, descriptions, photos, availability, and inventory status, to preparing and organizing products for shipment, delivery, storage, or other business needs.
Our ideal schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, but we can be flexible on the specific three days for the right person.
Requirements

  • 2+ years' experience with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to commute to shipping locations as needed.
  • Must pass an extensive FBI background check.
  • Ability to lift between 25 and 50 pounds for inventory and shipping needs.
  • Ability to occasionally work weekends to support firearm shows, with company provided vehicle.
  • Knowledge of firearms, firearm safety, and common firearm terminology as you will need to communicate with customers on products.
  • Strong customer service, sales, and communications in order to interact with customers in person, by phone, and online throughout the purchasing process.
  • An understanding of firearm sales requirements, compliance, and accurate recordkeeping to help complete required paperwork, maintain transaction and inventory records, and support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements. Attention to detail is critical because these are records that need to be right.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail as you will be working across firearms, ammunition, inventory, orders, shipments, and transaction records, keeping those pieces organized, recognizing when something does not match, and following through until it does.
  • Comfortable with technology, e-commerce, and basic website administration as a significant part of the operation happens online. You'll help maintain product listings, pricing, descriptions, photos, and inventory availability while processing online orders. You should be comfortable working with email, spreadsheets, inventory / POS systems, data entry, and a CMS or e-commerce platform.
  • You have the ability to work independently, use good judgement, and maintain confidentiality in order to manage your responsibilities, ask questions when something isn't clear, and be trusted with sensitive business and customer information.

If you know firearms, take pride in doing things the right way, and want a part-time opportunity where you can become a genuinely valuable part of the operation, send your resume directly to Lanchi Lai, ([email protected]).
