Job description

Job Title: Scheduler

Department: Admin/Business Support

Location: Rochester General Hospital (RGH) - 1425 Portland Avenue, Rochester, NY 14621

Hours per week: Part-Time/20 hours

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30AM - 4:30PM

Summary

As a Scheduler, your exceptional organization and time management skills are key in the efficient and successful scheduling of services throughout the system.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, social sciences, human resources, or equivalent preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant healthcare experience
  • Strong analytical, computer, organizational, customer service and communication skills
  • For the transportation departments, knowledge of IDX and CCS is beneficial
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • General Management. Manage incoming calls, greet customers, take messages as necessary; sort and distribute incoming mail; review patient letters for accuracy and assure outgoing mail is ready for the mailroom; recognize and communicate any problems or issues related to scheduling practices
  • Surgical Services. Coordinate surgical scheduling for multiple physicians, i.e. pre-admission history and physicals, diagnostic procedures, in-house procedures, etc.
  • Transportation Services. Schedule timely and efficient transportation for patients to a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation facility or to their home address as needed
  • ElderOne Only: Accurately document sick time and absenteeism for home care employees; provide input on annual home care caregiver employee evaluations; establish and maintain an annual vacation and time off schedule for assigned staff; maintain KRONOS scheduling
