About This Position as a Hospice Aide- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

HopeHealth Hospice and Palliative Care is seeking an experienced CNA to join its dynamic and caring hospice team. This position will provide care to hospice residents in homes in the northern half of Rhode Island.

The duties of a hospice aide are planned and assigned by a registered nurse to meet patient and family needs. The hospice aide provides personal care and light housekeeping duties in accordance with the established plan of care.

This is a part-time, 24 hours per week position, with 8:00-4:30pm hours. Working Monday, Wednesday and Friday and there is a rotating weekend commitment of every 4th or 5th weekend. It is eligible for benefits.


What will you do as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)?

  • Provides personal care
  • Observes, reports, and documents patient status and the care provided
  • Provides support to patient/ family/ caregiver through on-going communication.
  • Follows basic infection control procedures
  • Reports basic elements of body functioning, recognizes and reports changes in patient's status to RN Case Manager
  • Recognizes emergencies and has the knowledge of emergency procedures and their application
  • Maintains patient/family confidentiality

What are the qualifications for this job?

  • Certified Nurse Aide certification
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years of experience in home care and long-term care settings required.
