Emergency Department

The Level 2 Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department provides high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced acute care hospital setting. This part-time role supports both day and night shifts and requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to manage high-acuity patients, and effective collaboration with the interdisciplinary emergency care team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of emergency conditions
  • Perform rapid assessments, triage, and ongoing patient monitoring
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and emergency interventions as ordered
  • Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
  • Assist with trauma response and emergency procedures
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Adhere to hospital safety, quality, and infection control standards
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff
Qualifications:
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
  • Level 2 RN experience with demonstrated Emergency Department competency
  • Prior Emergency Department experience preferred
  • BLS required
  • Strong critical-thinking, multitasking, and communication skills
Schedule & Work Requirements:
  • Part-Time: 2 x 12-hour shifts per week
  • Days/Nights rotation
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call required
